Old mission, new exciting news from the Chandra X-ray Observatory.
Astronomers have announced evidence for a possible planet outside of the Milky Way galaxy. This “exoplanet” would be much farther away than any of the thousands of others scientists have found in our Galaxy in recent years.
Luxel built UV ion shields for the high-resolution camera (HRC) which was part of the science instrument module (SIM) on Chandra. We also provided optical blocking filters for the Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer (ACIS).
