Windows have been cycled 100 times to one atmosphere. The combination of rugged, polished mesh support and a 1 micron polyimide film ensures reliable pressurization with a minimum of deflection. These windows are fairly large — with a one inch clear aperture. Smaller windows would employ a less massive mesh, if desired, especially if deflection of the window was not a concern.
